Face Sunscreen Skincare by Glossier Review

I was super excited when Glossier released a sunscreen for people who hate wearing sunscreen. And, they hit it out of the ballpark because for the past few months, I have been applying sunscreen every day religiously.

Usually, sunscreen is thick and greasy. It’s not fun to slather on – especially on the face. But, this clear gel formula that Glossier created applies so comfortably like a lotion. It’s not heavy or greasy at all. Another bonus: it has a hint of a citrus scent.

Priced at $34 for 1 fl oz, it is on the expensive end, but it’s worth every penny. So now it’s been added to my favorite every day products – Glossier Invisible Shield for my face and regular, greasy sunblock for the rest of my body (especially for my tattoos).

Introducing sunscreen for people who hate wearing sunscreen—a clear watergel formula filled with active microcapsules that instantly absorbs into skin with no greasy residue and zero white cast. It helps prevent sun damage and skin cancer, but also works to neutralize harmful free radicals inside your skin, and keeps pollutant junk from getting in there in the first place—that’s the “+”.

My Favorite Everyday Glossier Products

My Favorite Everyday Glossier Products | by Lillian Lee

The only make-up I typically wear is lipstick. I never got into foundation, eye make-up, and cheeks/bronzer/etc. because the application process scares me.

But lately, I’ve been going down the rabbit hole of Youtube make-up reviews and tutorials which have made it seem not so daunting. It’s also through Youtube that I discovered the Glossier make-up brand.

I decided to give it a try after seeing how seemingly easy and no fuss it is. After trying out the products for a few weeks, there were a few definite winners and, unfortunately, a couple duds.

Here it goes…

The Winners

Generation G in Jam  ($18.00)
This blotted lipstick is perfect now that the weather is getting warmer, which calls for something more natural and light. I love the way this glides on – it’s super smooth and leaves a matte finish which I prefer over glossy. Also, there’s not much transfer. I’ve tried the blotted lip from Colourpop, but theirs is super difficult to get the color on – the stick is dry, which sucks because Colourpop costs only $5.00 vs Glossier at $18.00.

Boy Brow in black ($16.00)
I absolutely love this stuff. It gives enough color to fill in some of the lighter areas of my brow, but not so much that they look weird and unnatural. I have used this product every single day.

Stretch Concealer in light ($18.00)
This is not a full coverage concealer and can be used without foundation, which is perfect for me. I dab it under my eyes and around my nose where it gets red and then I’m good to go.

The…Not-Winners

Perfecting Skin Tint in light ($26.00)
I tried this out for a few days and it just never won me over. Did it even out my skin tone? Maybe…but it accentuated my dry skin. It left annoying little flakes on my nose which was not cute. If anybody has any suggestions on how to solve that, please do. I’d hate for it to go to waste.

Priming Moisturizer ($25.00)
I used this to give a good base to the Perfecting Skin Tint. It’s great for sensitive skin because I didn’t have any skin reactions to it (and I usually do). But, my problem with it is the “scent.”

There is no fragrance per say, but it has that unscented smell. Does that make sense? If it was void of any smell, I’d use it 24/7. As it stands, I will begrudgingly use it just because there’s so much of it left.

There are still a couple items I’d like to try though – the Cloud Paint blush and Haloscope highlighter.

All-in-all, I absolutely love the Glossier brand. It’s make-up but not make-up, which is perfect for a noob like me.
